Week 3

This picture took me 50 minutes.I tried to create an interesting composition using the rule of thirds.I started by creating a horizon line and a vanishing point, then drawing in the rough proportions so i knew that my composition would fit correctly on my page.Once i was happy with the draft i began adding more detail and then started shading areas.
This picture took me 1 hour.I wanted the tree to be the main focal point of the compostion and the bench in the bottom corner to stop the eye wondering off the page. I started by blocking out the basic proportions trying to ensure that everything fit nicely into my composition and the proportions worked well in relation to each other.Once i was happy with my line drawing i beagan to shade areas and add more detail to the brickwalls.
This was a quick sketch that took 20 minutes.Once again using the rule of thirds i tried to create an interesting compostion by having the viaduct intersect one of my points.I tried to create depth to my picture by having my garden wall as the foreground, the viaduct and trees as my middle ground and then drawing in the horizon faintly to create the background.
