Week 6

This was a 40 minute still life done in the drawing labs.I started by using basic primitives like spheres and cylinders to create the basic shapes of the vase and elipses for the flowers.By measuring my objects i was able to ensure i had the correct proportions of the flowers in releation to vase and the vase to the table.Once i was happy with my drawing i began to add more detail to the vase and the flowers.I then began shading by starting with the lighter tones, then adding darker tones and finishing of with my cast shadows.I then began to use a rubber to pick out the hightlights from the picture
This drawing is a 45 minute still life.I added the book and some cloth to the table to make the composition more interesting. I took care to draw from an angle to ensure there were no orphaned or kissing objects.I began by measuring the vase, book and table so that all the proportions were correct.I then began to draw the basic shapes of the drawing making sure the foreshortening of the book was correct.Once i was happy i began to add more detail to the flowers and the table cloth.I then shaded the drawing trying to recreate the curvature of the vase, the darkness of the leaves in contrast to the flowers and the folds from the cloth.I finshed off the drawing by picking out the highlights from the flowers ,vase and table cloth.
